Guys, how have you been???, I was wondering if everybody was ok and how has life treated you all, I hope very good...
What about me???, well, I've been pretty busy these last few months, getting set up in this new city, getting to know the people, the places, and treveling a little bit, most of the time to USA.
This time I went back to one of the most defining festivals of electronic music, DEMF or Movement at Detroit, and I might add that this particular festival, I was sriken by the genious of some of the best producers that have ever lived, Richie Hawtin, Dubfire, Loco Dice, it was mad, it was crazy, and it was the best times in my life.
Trying to reflect that, I made this podcast the longest one ever, I just left the computer recording while I just mixed the music that came to mind, lots of loops, lots of reverbs and flanges, just let the music flow, and in that spirit, I did not edited anything, thus the mix is called minimal master, just the masrter recording of the minimal music I like..

I´ve been thinking a lot lately about heart matters, about what true love is and how are we sure that we are really in love, I really don´t know what is there more to say about it that would not sound corny or repetitive, but I can tell you what I feel, love sometimes means pain and suffering, sometimes it means joy and happiness, it´s the experience of love the one we should aim at, love what we have, love what we want, love ourselves and let love just flow... what is there more precious...?.
This time I came back to mix some of the housy tunes I have, this mix, while keeping it´s techy edge, has more drummy and full of soul tunes, being one of my most danceble ones yet, instead of the more cerebral approach from the previous one.
Another season, another change, jajaja, this time, my feelings go to all the people out there who are not afraid to change, because change means evolution, experience and growth, it's been an awesome time for me, time, to rediscover long lost fears and weaknesess, and make my peace with them, time to heal my heart and forgive myself to start an great process of experiment, for the first time, I feel I'm flying alone, and it's going great so far!.
On the music now, this is a set I did in Hallowen live from a friend's birthday party, I went to the darker part of Techno, drifting a little bit from the drummy and housy sound I was playing to a more edgy and progressive sound, I liked a lot since it gave the opportunity to explore more about that side of the music and mix some great tunes I had waiting on bag.

Soooo glad to finally finished this episode!, Big changes as usual, the most important of it, I´ve changed cities and work, and well, you know all this transition time left me with almos none to work with my music, that's why this episode is so important, it marks my stabilization into a new life, and also lives the door open for the unknown and the sorprises life might have for me, I'm pretty excited about it!
Music wise, this episode reflects the festive mood that I had when doing it, it is also a live set!, recorded at Fajita Studio in the beautiful Monterrey City, so it is a land mark for me also, having using CDJ this time, instead of vinyl or mp3 controllers.
This time it did took me long enough to finish the 10th episode!, but it was becouse so much has happened these last days in my life, again people have left my life for good, people I loved very much, and I also had a little tour to Asia, I visited China and Malaysia, where I met very cool people, but also tested my mental and physical resistance (I had food poisoning just after 3 days!), so afterdevberal visits to doctors, they still don't know what I had, or if it still there, so... anyway, before I start wining about life and stuff, I decided better to focus in my personal mantra, "live hard", jajaja, I'm happy I had the opportunity to travel over there, and I'm also happy I can still make music and keep going with my life, at the end, we all are leaving this earth, we cannot be afraid of the natural path of life, and so, I will keep fighting to get better, and I hope you do too!
Well, enough with me, let's go to music, for the 10th episode, I had a lot of music I wanted to mix, so I decided to keep the things techy and housy, with a lot of bass and more tribal sounds this time, totally inspired by the likes of Steve Lawler, Loco Dice.

Again it took a long time for me to finish this one, jajaja, but it think it was worth the wait...
I wanted to make this mix as an appreciation of the year, with the tunes I liked the most, producers that are marking tendencies, moiving from groovy, to techy, to housy and even trancy tunes, and finally, a summary of what has been this year to me, evolution of my persona, and finding new significates to life.
As you might now, people has come and gone this year in my life, and with this compilation I want to thank them for all the valuable lessons I've learned through them.

Hi Guys!, long time no see, jajaja, well, I had to take some time to find some perspective, and to listen to some great music as well, you know, somehow these last days I have found myself struggling with a series of old ghosts, insecurities, fears and unhappiness, and yet, I always know, we just need to stop right there and ask ourselves, "after all, will I find defeat here? NO, HELL NO!", we must keep going, the path will always have its hard patches, but as long as we remain true and honest, we will succeed and find a new better place.
So in this mix I tried to reflect that, it's a cross road between progressive house, tech house and techno, I had a lot of help from one of my mentors, James Zabiela, who is truly the perfect crossing of technical skills and people reading, if you have the chance, catch one of his shows, you'll know what I'm talking about when you see him.

Action, the meaning of doing instead of contemplating, the path of the warrior or the path of the wise, it’s a battle, a never ending battle between searching for meaning and wanting for meaning, what is the key of this battle?, well if you ask me?, the key is that it is not a battle, or not one you will ever truly win, we are dual beings, we will always be battling between doing and just wanting, at some point we can win and see, but we will lose it, so we need to keep battling again, the key is then to keep doing and keep wanting…
Searching for a meaningful sound, this time I prepared something special, this mix features more progressive and techy music, kind of the tunes you would hear me play in a gig, and this is more close to my sound.

Now that I have released my pain through music, well, almost, jajaja, I was thinking about happiness, peace of mind, and union, you know, there comes a time in life when we all have to look back and think about the past, not to dwell in it, but to let it go, in order to become a warrior, action must be the mean to learn, and to leave behind that heavy weight of the past, will show what we truly learned all this time, or if we must undergo the experience again, certainly, the search for love is one that never ends, so, I’ll keep walking and searching…

Have you ever had this feeling of doing the right thing even though you don't want to?, well, in recent dates that very thing happened to me, somebody very important in my life has parted ways with me, and, I just had to let go, no attachments, if you truly want to be happy, just be, do not attach yourself to anything or anyone, just learn, and see.
Some time ago, I learned that the only thing left when you let somebody you love go, is hope, hope that it's the right thing to do, so even if it hurts now, I have hope =).
This Mix is called Irony, to show exactly my feelings, the irony of let go the very thing that makes you happy, to be truly happy yourself, and it shows the way the mix it's made, ups and downs, Techhouse or Housetech, jajaja.

There's this one time... at band camp..., jajaja, no, really, after the third attempt to upload this chapter on hotfile it became kind of funny, jajaja...
Anyway, the Bright side, well, this one, is more progressive oriented, pushing the bounderies from house to trance to electro, the Mix features my experimentation with more dancy music, and it has influences from the visit of Mr. Nick Warren to Mexico, Mamuth set, Mamuth Dj.

Let me introduce myself, I'm Ricardo Dassaev and I will be hosting these compilations of electronic music, I named them "a little bit of me" so you know I'm guy in search of knowledge, and in that spirit, I share with you the music I've loved, and keep loving today, this first podcast is my first mixing attempt, it's a tech, progressive house one, inspired by the grooves of the Detroit Music Festival.

I'm Ricardo Dassaev a.k.a. "R.I.D.E.V.", a project that started almost 2 years ago, I'm a guy walking, dreaming, learning, and with Music, trying, expressing and loving.
As you'll see, the music I mix is not one genre defined, I try to explore every corner of the Music I like, and I try to give you something to think about in each of the mixes, sadness, happiness, anger, joy, we are one and the same, and the feelings I express in the music is just a reflection of life.
